From centrifugal compressors to silk and brocade —
the story of a woman who never stopped believing in her dream.
Barbara Rizzi grew up surrounded by the mechanical poetry of centrifugal compressors.
Her family’s company, RIVAIR S.r.l., designs and manufactures
high-precision industrial machinery — and Barbara learned early that beauty
is not an accident, but the result of obsessive attention to every detail.
For years she worked in engineering, mastering the language of structure, balance
and function. But beneath every blueprint, a different kind of design was taking shape.
Colours, textures, silhouettes — she was always sketching between the equations.
At a moment when the world said “wait”, Barbara said “now”.
She founded her fashion house in Milan, channelling everything she knew about
structure and precision into a new language: luxury Prêt-à-Porter.
Each collection is a conversation between engineering and poetry. The impeller —
the rotating heart of a centrifugal compressor — became her symbol:
energy, movement, balance, heritage.
“Do what they say you can’t.”
“Do what they say you can’t.”
Energy, speed, balance — and heritage.
The centrifugal compressor blade that unites BR and RIVAIR in a single soul.
Majesty, beauty and rebirth.
Every feather an irreplaceable detail.
The animal that does not ask permission.
Strength as a form of elegance.
The key to a world that is earned, not inherited.
Access to true luxury.
RIVAIR S.r.l. — Founded by the Rizzi family, designs and manufactures centrifugal compressors for industrial applications worldwide. The impeller, its most complex component, became the heart of the Barbara Rizzi brand identity.
