Han

Han is a feeling of unresolved resentment towards injustices suffered — a stubborn impulse for revenge, and to correct the wrongs. The BR collection bears this name as a strong tribute to Korea, a country that conquered the designer at first glance for its beauty, rigour, strength and pride.

Burgundy is the colour of the Han collection — the depth of the heart — joined by brass, marsala, vinaceous, magenta and the inevitable green. The brocades recall the Jinhae; the tiger, symbol of Korea, stands beside the peacock that is never absent from a BR collection — both symbols of strength, beauty, royalty and magic, brought back as a talisman: a printed and embroidered norigae.

"The inspiration comes from the Hanbok, which my daughter and I immediately wore, fascinated by those colours and that regal shape. I designed immersed in the silence of the royal gardens, the ponds of water lilies and lotus flowers — a river of ideas, as if we had finally met again after a long time." The love for the East is described in a single word: in yun — destiny.
